WHEN SHOULD i GET A BREAST AUGMENTATION?
Modern methods provide long lasting, secure solutions in the field of breast augmentation. During the process, implants are placed under the glandular tissue or under the muscle or halfway under the muscle.
In addition to volume increase, a nicer, firmer breast-form can be achieved, with a more appropriate body build, enhancing:
feminine appearance,
self-assurance,
well-being.
HOW IS BREAST AUGMENTATION DONE?
All the breast implants applied today have silicon walls. They can be filled with isotonic solution or silicon jelly. There are round implants with high and low profile and anatomical a.k.adrop-formed ones. Individual choice and a wide variability make it easier to the patient to achieve an appearance suitable for her personality and body constitution.
Contemporary studies repeatedly prove that silicon jelly filled implants do not cause breast cancer or any other disease. Analysed scientific – clinical, immunological, epidemiological – data support that silicon jelly filled implants do not cause any autoimmune or connective tissue diseases.
There is no scientific proof suggesting a phenomenon like silicon allergy, silicon intoxication or „new silicon disease”. A normal foreign body reaction is always induced by any implantation, however, it is not an immune disease.
Laboratory tests detecting silicon have no clinical significance. Specific antibodies against silicon have not been demonstrated up till now.
Further information is to be found in the Agreement Declaration on Breast Implants ofEQUAM (European Committee on Quality Assurance and Medical Devices in plastic Surgery) dated July 1998, regardingthe secure applicability of the implant.
When determing the size and form of the implant we consider the mass of the breasts’ glandular tissue and their shape; the body height and symmetry of the chest, and the state of the skin along with the patient’s concept in comprehensive consultation. The „sizer” that is, a probe implant makes the decision easier, available in every size.
Prior to the procedure, general and local examinations have to be done to value the risks of the treatment. During the breast augmentation procedures performed in our clinic implants are placed under the glandular tissue or half under the muscle. The surgeon chooses the most appropriate method with the patient’s consent.
The surgical incision can be made in the mammary fold, at the areola border, through the nipple or in the armpit; the decision is made by the surgeon in accordance with the patient’s constitution and expectations.
The procedure is always performed under general anaesthesia, lasting 1-1.5 hour.
The compulsory clinical stay is 1 night.

HEALING AND RECOVERY AFTER BREAST AUGMENTATION TREATMENT
The patient should avoid any sport or other activity that involves intense shoulder or pectoral muscle movements for six weeks.
The patients will have to undergo regular follow-up examinations.
Though in most cases of medical procedures, operations may be accompanied by the swelling, haemorrhage, possibly inflammation of the given region, or scarring disorders may occur, these are becoming rarer and more easy to treat – due to the development in medical science.
Sutures do not have to be removed, as absorbable sutures are used in our clinic. Work capacity returns in 3-6 days.
